MV Switchgear Service & Testing

Ensuring Safe and Reliable Substation Operations

_________

AMP performs annual service and testing of MV switchgear to ensure optimal performance and safety. During servicing, all movable parts are cleaned and lubricated, wiring is checked for loose connections, and screws, selector switches, and micro switches are tightened. Functionality tests are conducted outside the panel to verify the motor, closing, and trip circuits are fully operational.

Coil resistances and the number of switching events are recorded, along with coil and motor voltages, which are documented on the service certificate. Contact resistance, speed tests, and pressure tests are also performed to verify the correct operation of the MV switchgear.

AMP has a dedicated team capable of performing minor on-site repairs. If low ductor values or cracked insulators are detected, clients are informed of potential risks and given recommendations before the switchgear is returned to service.

We service and test vacuum, SF6, and OCB switchgear on-site. SF6 gas top-ups and OCB oil replacements are carried out if required. LV switches and core unbalance CTs are also serviced and tested as part of our comprehensive offering.

At AMP, we strive to maintain a safer substation environment to protect your valuable staff and ensure reliable electrical operations.
